You are waiting for a presentation to start.

You are in the audience.

You see the slide in the picture.

How do you feel?

😃Excited about the rest of the presentation?
😒Or slightly dreading it and having your phone on standby?

Overcrowding is one of the most common mistakes when preparing slides.
Often, more is less.

🧱 Big blocks of text are rarely a good idea, as the audience will start reading them and tune you out. Or, even worse, they might completely switch off and start searching for new vacation destinations.
(Of course, there are exceptions, like when your slides are meant to serve as a stand-alone source of information.)
✅ What to do instead?
Use pictures, graphs, gifs, videos, keywords, or short sentences.

📊It is not just that too much text is a problem, but too much of anything.
If there are too many elements on the slide, your audience will get lost trying to decipher what is going on.
✅ What to do instead?
If you must include lots of information, reveal items one by one as you talk about them.
That way, your audience knows what to focus on and does not get overwhelmed.
